The threat of landslides has intensified in Odisha, overshadowing the flood crisis. More than 10 locations across Gajapati and Kandhamal districts have witnessed landslides, creating a situation reminiscent of Kerala. Landslides have struck the Luhagudi-Taptapani Ghat section, with massive amounts of soil sliding down the hills. Traffic movement through Taptapani Ghat is yet to return to normal, with nearly half of the road blocked by debris. Heavy rainfall in Gajapati and Kandhamal has also triggered flooding in Ganjam district, while large areas of the two hill districts remain covered in mud and debris.
