Mahanadi Flood Alert in Odisha | Hirakud Dam Opens 24 Gates, 6 Lakh Cusecs Expected at Mundali

ମହାନଦୀରେ ମାଡ଼ି ଆସୁଛି ପାଣି । ତଳିଆ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଛନକା । ଫୁଲୁଛି ହୀରାକୁଦ, ଖୋଲିଲା ଆଉ ୨ଟି ଗେଟ୍ । ଏବେ ୨୪ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ହୀରାକୁଦରୁ ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି । ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାରରେ ଜଳସ୍ତର ୬୨୮.୧୯ ଫୁଟ୍ ରହିଛି। ପ୍ରତି ସେକେଣ୍ଡରେ ହାରାହାରି ୩ ଲକ୍ଷ ୩୯ ହଜାର ୧୮ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ଜଳ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଥିବା ବେଳେ ୩ ଲକ୍ଷ ୬୪ ହଜାର ୪୩୨ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସିତ ହେଉଛି। ସ୍ପିଲୱେ ଦେଇ ୩ ଲକ୍ଷ ୨୬ ହଜାର ୧୦୦ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ଜଳ, ପାୱାର ଚ୍ୟାନେଲ ଦେଇ ୩୪ ହଜାର ୪୪୮ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି। ଆଜି ରାତି ସୁଦ୍ଧା ମୁଣ୍ଡଳିରେ ୬ ଲକ୍ଷ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ପହଞ୍ଚିବ। ମହାନଦୀରେ ଜଳପ୍ରବାହ ବଢୁଥିବାରୁ ତାର ଉପନଦୀ ଗୁଡ଼ିକ ମଧ୍ୟ ଫୁଲିବାରେ ଲାଗିଛି । ହୀରାକୁଦ ପାଣି ତଳମୁଣ୍ଡରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିବା ପରେ ବନ୍ୟା ସ୍ଥିତି ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହେବା ଆଶଙ୍କା କରାଯାଉଛି ।

Water levels are rising in the Mahanadi, raising concerns in low-lying areas of Odisha. Hirakud Dam has opened 24 gates, with floodwater being released downstream.

The Hirakud reservoir water level stands at 628.19 feet. Average inflow is around 3,39,018 cusecs, while approximately 3,64,432 cusecs of water is being released. Around 3,26,100 cusecs is being discharged through the spillway and 34,448 cusecs through the power channel.
