Devotees, locals and servitors in Puri have expressed concern over allegations that leftover Mahaprasad was allegedly reheated and sold with non-vegetarian food at a small hotel near Puri Railway Station. The hotel owner, Manoj, was detained by Kumbharapada Police for questioning and was reportedly warned to shut the hotel before being released. According to the source, no further action has so far been taken against the hotel owner. The incident has sparked strong reactions over the alleged disrespect to Mahaprasad, the sacred food offered to Lord Jagannath.
