Nepal continues massive search, rescue, relief and recovery operations after devastating flash floods struck the Bhote Koshi River on August 26, 2026. Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said saving lives, locating missing people and providing urgent assistance to survivors remain the government’s top priorities. So far, 626 bodies have been recovered, around 2,400 people remain unaccounted for and more than 4,450 people have been rescued.
