Nepal Tunnel Rescue: 2 Bodies Recovered, 41 Workers Still Missing

ନେପାଳ ଟନେଲ ଭିତରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ହେଉଛି ମୃତଦେହ । ରସୁଆ ସ୍ଥିତ ଲାଙ୍ଗଟାଙ୍ଗ ଜଳବିଦ୍ୟୁତ୍ ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପ ଟନେଲରେ ଫସିଥିବା ଶ୍ରମିକଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ନେଇ ବଡ଼ ଅଭିଯାନ ଚାଲିଛି । ନେପାଳ ସେନା, ସଶସ୍ତ୍ର ପୋଲିସ ବଳ ଏବଂ ଭାରତୀୟ ସେନାର ମିଳିତ ଟିମ୍ ସୁଡ଼ଙ୍ଗର ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୦୦ ମିଟର ଭିତରକୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ଦୁଇଟି ମୃତଦେହ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିଛନ୍ତି । ଏହି ଦୁଇଜଣ ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପର କର୍ମଚାରୀ ଥିଲେ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବନ୍ୟା ପରଠାରୁ ନିଖୋଜ ଥିଲେ । ଭାରତରୁ ଯାଇଥିବା ବିଶେଷଜ୍ଞ ଟନେଲ୍ ରେସକ୍ୟୁ ଟିମ୍ ନେପାଳ ସେନା ସହ ମିଶି ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳ ପରିସ୍ଥିତିରେ ସୁଡ଼ଙ୍ଗର ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୮୫ ମିଟର ଗଭୀରତା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯାଞ୍ଚ କରିଛନ୍ତି । ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପ ପ୍ରବନ୍ଧକଙ୍କ ସୂଚନା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ଏହି ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରତ ପ୍ରାୟ ୪୧ ଜଣ ଶ୍ରମିକ ଏବେ ମଧ୍ୟ ନିଖୋଜ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖୋଜିବା ପାଇଁ ଅଭିଯାନ ଜାରି ରହିଛି । ପ୍ରବଳ ବନ୍ୟା ଯୋଗୁଁ ସୁଡ଼ଙ୍ଗ ଭିତରଟି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ କାଦୁଅ, ପାଣି ଏବଂ ବଡ଼ ବଡ଼ ପଥରରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି ହୋଇଯାଇଛି । ମୁଖ୍ୟ ରାସ୍ତା ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବନ୍ଦ ଥିବାରୁ ହାଇଡ୍ରୋ-ମେକାନିକାଲ୍ ଇଞ୍ଜିନିୟରମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଉପାୟରେ ଭିତରକୁ ଯିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଛନ୍ତି ।

A major rescue operation is underway at the Langtang Hydropower Project tunnel in Rasuwa, Nepal, where workers have been trapped following severe flooding. A joint team of the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Indian Army entered around 100 metres into the tunnel and recovered two bodies of project employees who had been missing since the floods. An expert tunnel rescue team from India has inspected the tunnel up to around 185 metres despite extremely difficult conditions. According to the project manager, around 41 workers are still missing and the search operation continues. The tunnel remains filled with mud, water and large rocks, while engineers are exploring alternative ways to enter as the main route is completely blocked.
