No-Confidence Process Against Tikhiri Sarpanch to Continue; HC Bars Result Announcement

ଚାମେଲି ଓଝାଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧରେ ଜାରି ରହିବ ଅନାସ୍ଥା। କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡ଼ା ତିଖିରି ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସରପଞ୍ଚ ଚାମେଲି ଓଝାଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧରେ ଆଗତ ଅନାସ୍ଥା ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା ଜାରି ରଖିବାକୁ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ ନିର୍ଦେଶ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି। ତେବେ ଫଳାଫଳ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବା ଉପରେ ଅନ୍ତରୀଣ ଅଙ୍କୁଶ ଲଗାଇଛନ୍ତି। ବିନା ଅନୁମତିରେ ଅନାସ୍ଥା ଭୋଟିଙ୍ଗ ଫଳାଫଳ ପ୍ରକାଶ ନକରିବାକୁ ନିର୍ଦେଶ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ। ଏହାସହ ଚାମେଲି ଓଝାଙ୍କ ଆବେଦନ ଉପରେ ଶୁଣାଣି ଶେଷ କରି ରାୟ ସରଂକ୍ଷିତ ରଖିଛନ୍ତି ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ।

The Odisha High Court has directed that the no-confidence process against Tikhiri Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Chameli Ojha of Kendrapara district may continue, but has imposed an interim restriction on announcing the voting result without the court’s permission. The court has reserved its judgment after hearing Chameli’s petition. She has alleged that documents related to the no-confidence motion were not provided to her as required under the Gram Panchayat law and that the notice was handed to her illiterate father while she was away. She also claimed that copies of the resolution and requisition were not provided despite approaching the Sub-Collector twice. The opposing side, however, submitted an affidavit stating that there was no procedural irregularity in the no-confidence motion. Voting on the motion is scheduled for August 13.
