Nuclear Power Project Faces Opposition in Odisha; Over 2,000 Protest in Nabarangpur

ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ଆଣବିକ ଶକ୍ତି ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପକୁ ନେଇ ତେଜିଲା ବିରୋଧ । ନବରଙ୍ଗପୁର ଓ କଳାହାଣ୍ଡି ଜିଲ୍ଲା ବାସିନ୍ଦାଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୀବ୍ର ଅସନ୍ତୋଷ । ନବରଙ୍ଗପୁର ଜିଲ୍ଲା ତେନ୍ତୁଳିଖୁଣ୍ଟି ବ୍ଲକ ହିର୍ମିମୁଣ୍ଡାରେ ଆୟୋଜିତ ହୋଇଛି ବିଶାଳ ପ୍ରତିବାଦ ସମାବେଶ । ଏଥିରେ ଦୁଇ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ୨ ହଜାରରୁ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକ ସାମିଲ ହୋଇଥିଲେ । ସମାବେଶରେ ବିଜେଡି ଓ କଂଗ୍ରେସର ବହୁ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ନେତା ସାମିଲ ହୋଇଥିଲେ । ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପ ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ସରକାର ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ତଥ୍ୟ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ ଏବଂ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହମତି ବିନା କୌଣସି ପଦକ୍ଷେପ ନିଆନଯାଉ ବୋଲି ଦାବି ହୋଇଛି । ଦାବି ପୂରଣ ନହେଲେ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀରେ ଆନ୍ଦୋଳନ ସହ ପ୍ରଧାନମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରପତିଙ୍କୁ ଦାବିପତ୍ର ଦେବାକୁ ଚେତାବନୀ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ପ୍ରତିବାଦକାରୀ । ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଜନସାଧାରଣଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ତଥ୍ୟ ନଦେଇ ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପ ସମ୍ପର୍କିତ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା ଆଗକୁ ବଢ଼ାଯାଉଛି ଏବଂ ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପ ହେଲେ ହଜାର ହଜାର ଏକର ଜମି, ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ଓ ଜୀବିକା ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ହେବା ସହ ପରିବେଶ ଓ ଜନସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟକୁ ନେଇ ଚିନ୍ତା ବଢ଼ିବ ବୋଲି ଆଶଙ୍କା କରିଛନ୍ତି ଆନ୍ଦୋଳନକାରୀ । ସେପଟେ ବିଧାୟକ ଗୌରୀଶଙ୍କର ମାଝୀ କହିଛନ୍ତି, ବିଜେପି ସରକାର ଜନସାଧାରଣଙ୍କୁ ନଜଣାଇ କିଛି ବି କରିବେନି। ବିରୋଧୀଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ କିଛି ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗ ନଥିବାରୁ ଏଭଳି ପ୍ରତିବାଦ କରୁଛନ୍ତି।

Opposition to a proposed nuclear power project has intensified in Odisha, with more than 2,000 people from Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts participating in a massive protest at Hirmimunda in Tentulikhunti block. Protesters demanded that the government disclose complete details of the project and take no steps without the consent of local residents. They expressed concerns over the potential impact on thousands of acres of land, forests, livelihoods, the environment and public health. The protesters also warned of a demonstration in Delhi and submitting memorandums to the Prime Minister and President if their demands remain unmet. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Gaurishankar Majhi said the government would not take any action without informing the public and alleged that the opposition was protesting for lack of other issues.
