Maa Durga’s 25-kg laddu offering was auctioned for ₹18,000 at the Rajdhani Mandir Suraksha Bhasani Samiti in Bhubaneswar. The auction began at ₹10,000, with the Jayadev Vihar Puja Committee eventually winning the bid for ₹18,000 after several committees participated.

The laddu was first offered as bhog to Maa Durga before being put up for auction. The Jayadev Vihar Puja Committee secured it by placing the highest bid.

This long-standing tradition takes place after all 18 Durga Puja medhas arrive at the Rajdhani Mandir Suraksha Bhasani Samiti. The laddu is auctioned in front of representatives of all 18 committees, and the committee offering the highest amount takes it home. Our correspondent Jyoti Prakash Pati brings more details from the Nayapalli Puja Committee.
