OCL Iron and Steel Limited, the affected company in the sinking of the ship ‘Ocean Winner’, has approached the High Court seeking compensation for the loss. The company has filed an application for international commercial arbitration. The Panama-flagged vessel sank 240 nautical miles from Paradip Port on the 22nd while carrying iron ore fines from Paradip to China. Only two crew members were rescued, while 22 others remain missing. The exact manner and cause of the ship’s sinking continue to remain a mystery.
