There is still no clear picture regarding the possibility of a cyclone. The low-pressure area formed over the North Andaman region is influencing rainfall in Odisha, with rain likely over South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rain may occur on September 21 and 22, while heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible across the state from September 23 to 26. Geologist Jenamani Sanjib Kumar said that not every low-pressure system develops into a cyclone and there is no need to panic over the expected rainfall. He also said the rainfall could help make up for the relatively less rain received in South Odisha. According to the statement, the India Meteorological Department has not given any information confirming a cyclone.
