A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into Cyclone Arnab tomorrow and grow stronger over the sea. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system may cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam on the morning of October 28, with wind speeds potentially reaching around 140 kmph.
Although Odisha may escape a direct hit, the state could still experience significant effects from the cyclone. Five districts in southern Odisha bordering Andhra Pradesh may be among the worst affected.
Rain and strong winds are expected to begin in Odisha from October 27 as Cyclone Arnab approaches the Andhra coast.
