Vijaya Dashami marks the culmination of the Durga Puja festivities, symbolising the victory of good over evil. On this auspicious occasion, a giant effigy of Ravana was burnt as part of the traditional Ravan Dahan celebrations. However, the rising cost of essential commodities has become a major challenge for poor people today, emerging as a demon in their everyday lives.
