ନନ୍ଦନକାନନ ପାଇଁ ଦୁଃଖ ଖବର । ସିଂହୀ ମାୟାର ମାତୃତ୍ୱରେ ପୁଣି ଦୁଃଖର ଛାୟା । ଆଖି ଖୋଲିବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଚାଲିଗଲା ତିନି ଦିନର ସିଂହ ଶାବକ । ପ୍ରଥମଥର ପାଇଁ ମାଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ମାୟାର ଦୁଇ ଶାବକଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଆଉ ଗୋଟିଏ ଶାବକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଛି। ଗତ ୭ ତାରିଖରେ ମାୟା ଦୁଇଟି ସିଂହ ଶାବକ ଜନ୍ମ ଦେଇଥିଲା। ହେଲେ ଜନ୍ମ ଦିନରେ ହିଁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଶାବକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଥିଲା। ଏବେ ଜନ୍ମର ମାତ୍ର ତିନି ଦିନ ପରେ ଆଉ ଗୋଟିଏ ଅଣ୍ଡିରା ଶାବକ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆଖି ବୁଜିଛି। ମାଆର କ୍ଷୀର ସଠିକ୍ ଭାବେ ପାନ କରିପାରୁନଥିଲା ଶାବକ। କ୍ଷୀର ପାଟି ଦେଇ ନଯାଇ ନାକ ବାଟେ ବାହାରି ଆସୁଥିଲା। ତେବେ ଜନ୍ମଜାତ ତାଳୁ ଫାଟ ଯୋଗୁଁ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟାପ୍ତ କ୍ଷୀର ପାନ କରିନପାରିବା ହିଁ ଶାବକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ପ୍ରମୁଖ କାରଣ ବୋଲି ପୋଷ୍ଟମର୍ଟମ୍ ରିପୋର୍ଟରୁ ଜଣାପଡ଼ିଛି।

Sad news from Nandankanan as another lion cub born to first-time mother Maya has died just three days after birth. Maya had given birth to two lion cubs on September 7, but one cub died on the day of birth. Now, the second male cub has also died before opening its eyes. The cub was unable to properly drink its mother’s milk, with the milk coming out through its nose instead of passing through the mouth. According to the post-mortem report, the major cause of death was the cub’s inability to consume sufficient milk due to a congenital cleft palate.
