A ₹30-crore workers’ rest house project at Teherai in Koida Block, funded through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), has remained incomplete for six years. The 1,000-bed facility was launched in 2020 and was supposed to be completed and handed over by 2022. However, the project is yet to be completed, while questions are now being raised over construction quality even before the handover. Soil has reportedly caved in at some places and cracks have appeared at several locations, raising concerns among locals and allegations of a major irregularity in the project.
