Special Story: BJD Hits the Streets Over MMDR Act, Warns of Economic Blockade

ମାଇନ୍ସ ଆଣ୍ଡ ମିନେରାଲସ ଡେଭଲପମେଣ୍ଟ ଆଣ୍ଡ ରେଗୁଲେସନ୍ ବା MMDR ଆଇନ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାହାର ଦାବିରେ ରାଜରାସ୍ତାକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇଲା ବିଜେଡି। ଲୋକ ଭବନ ଆଗରେ ଧାରଣା, ରାଜ୍ୟପାଳଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟି ଦେଲା ସ୍ମାରକ ପତ୍ର। ସକାଳ ୧୦ଟାରୁ ଦିନ ୧୨ଟା ଯାଏଁ ଆଜି ବିଜେଡି ଲୋକ ଭବନ ଆଗରେ ବିକ୍ଷୋଭ କରିଥିଲା। ସଂଶୋଧିତ MMDR ଆଇନକୁ କଳା ଆଇନ କହି ବିଜେପି ସରକାର ଉପରେ ବର୍ଷିବା ସହିତ ଅର୍ଥନୈତିକ ଅବରୋଧ ପାଇଁ ଦଳ ଦେଇଛି ଚେତାବନୀ।

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) staged a protest in front of Lok Bhavan demanding withdrawal of the amended Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) or MMDR Act. The party held a sit-in from 10 am to 12 noon and later met the Governor to submit a memorandum. Calling the amended MMDR Act a ‘black law’, BJD leaders strongly criticised the BJP government and warned of an economic blockade if their demands are not addressed.
