Prices of essential commodities are rising sharply, putting consumers under increasing financial pressure as incomes fail to keep pace with expenses. From pulses, cooking oil and sugar to vegetables and other daily-use items, rising prices are making it increasingly difficult for common people to manage household budgets. The issue of price rise was raised in the Odisha Assembly today. In response to written questions from MLAs Prakash Soren and Dhruva Sahu, the Food Supplies Minister acknowledged the increase in prices of essential commodities.
