Cyclone Arnab made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast, but its impact has been felt across southern Odisha, particularly in Gajapati and Ganjam districts, around 400 kilometres from the landfall area, according to the report. Uprooted trees have blocked roads and disrupted transportation, while reports of damaged bridges and waterlogged ghat roads have raised concerns.

These disruptions are attributed to the cyclone’s outer bands. As the weather system moves inland across Odisha and weakens, heavy rainfall and strong winds could worsen conditions in affected areas. How severe has Cyclone Arnab’s impact been on the ground? Watch OTV’s special ground report for a closer look at the damage and the challenges faced by residents.
