Amid the festive lights and grand decorations of Durga Puja, the Kalinga Durga Committee pandal at Daruthenga in Bhubaneswar presents a powerful depiction of the devastating floods and landslides that struck Nepal on August 26. Featuring a replica inspired by the Swaminarayan Temple in the United States, the 91-foot-high and 78-foot-wide installation portrays the destruction caused by the disaster, including damaged roads, destroyed homes and lives buried under debris. The striking theme delivers a strong message about the deteriorating relationship between humans and nature.
