Odisha is set to have an interim police chief as the state government has appointed Crime Branch DGP Vinaytosh Mishra as in-charge DGP from August 16, 2026. The arrangement comes as incumbent DGP Y.B. Khurania is scheduled to retire on August 16, while the appointment of a regular successor remains unresolved.
