A well-marked low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is likely to intensify into a depression, followed by a deep depression tomorrow and a cyclonic storm on October 26. The system is expected to approach the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts by the morning of October 28. Wind speeds could reach 70–80 kmph on October 26, with gusts of up to 90 kmph. Wind speeds may increase further as the system moves closer to the coast. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not yet issued a forecast for wind speed at landfall. The likely track and intensity of the system are expected to become clearer after it develops into a depression.
