Five villages in Talcher, Angul district—Kumunda, Marad Hariharpur, Chittalpur, Parabeda and Banabaspur—face displacement as preparations for coal mining move forward. More than 6,000 people may have to leave their homes and farmland in exchange for compensation and rehabilitation.
