A young man was swept away along with his motorcycle by a strong flow of hill water on the Lulung road at the foothills of Similipal. He narrowly escaped with his life, while a video of the incident has gone viral. Continuous heavy rainfall has caused strong water currents on several roads in Similipal, increasing the danger for commuters. The youths involved in the incident are reportedly locals. People present at the spot rescued the youth and also recovered the motorcycle from the water.
