A major breakthrough has brought a ray of hope amid the devastation in flood-hit Nepal, with two people rescued alive from separate locations. A Chinese national was rescued from inside a 225-metre-long tunnel at the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project, while a 64-year-old woman was pulled out alive from beneath a collapsed house in Nuwakot.

The complex rescue operations were carried out by the Nepal Army and rescue teams. The Chinese national was airlifted to a hospital by helicopter, while the elderly woman was airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment. Their survival has given rescuers and people a renewed sense of hope.

According to the source, the devastating floods of August 26 have claimed more than 1,300 lives, while over 5,000 people remain unaccounted for. Amid the destruction, every life rescued from the rubble is emerging as another ray of hope.
