Maa Durga is being worshipped at a grand toran inspired by the Swaminarayan Temple in America, set up by the Darutheng Kalinga Durga Committee. The toran measures 91 feet in height and 78 feet in width. Inside the pandal, striking depictions of the devastation caused by floods in Nepal form a major attraction.
The committee has entered its fourth year of organising the Durga Puja celebrations this year. After nightfall, a laser projection show on the toran has emerged as a key attraction for visitors.
The elaborate temple-inspired structure and the laser show add to the festive atmosphere at Darutheng.
