Floodwater from the Bauhuda River has submerged NH-16, bringing traffic to a standstill and disrupting road connectivity between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The Berhampur–Visakhapatnam route has been closed, leaving thousands of trucks stranded on both sides of the highway, from the Andhra border to Berhampur. Long queues of vehicles have formed along the national highway, and normal traffic movement is unlikely to resume until the floodwater recedes.
