Concerns over synthetic and adulterated paneer have intensified across Odisha. Following an OTV report on adulterated paneer, the administration has launched a crackdown. During a raid by the Health Department of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation, a large quantity of suspected adulterated paneer and chhena was seized from Madhupatna Square. Around 70 quintals of paneer and chhena, estimated to be worth nearly Rs 17 lakh, were seized. According to the information, the suspected adulterated paneer was being brought to Cuttack from the Niali and Adaspur areas. There are allegations that maida and a chemical substance called ‘Paras’ were being mixed into the paneer, raising concerns among consumers.
