Cyclone Alert for Odisha: IMD Predicts Storm Near South Odisha Coast by October 28

ପୁଣି ଅକ୍ଟୋବର, ପୁଣି ବାତ୍ୟା। ଗଲା କିଛି ଦିନ ଧରି ଯେଉଁ ଆଶଙ୍କା କରାଯାଉଥିଲା ସେଥିରେ ମୋହର ମାରିଛି IMD। ପାଣିପାଗ ବିଭାଗର ସୂଚନା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ଆସନ୍ତା ୨୬ ତାରିଖରେ ବାତ୍ୟାର ରୂପ ନେବ ବଙ୍ଗୋପସାଗରେ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହୋଇଥିବା ଲଘୁଚାପ। ୨୮ ତାରିଖ ସକାଳ ବେଳକୁ ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ବାତ୍ୟା ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଉପକୂଳ ପାଖାପାଖି ପହଞ୍ଚିବ। ସେତେବେଳକୁ ପବନର ବେଗ ଘଣ୍ଟା ପ୍ରତି ୯୦ କିଲୋମିଟର ରହିପାରେ ବୋଲି ଆକଳନ କରାଯାଉଛି। ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ସମୟରେ ଏହା ଆହୁରି ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ହୋଇ ସ୍ଥଳଭାଗ ଅତିକ୍ରମ କରିବାର ସମ୍ଭାବନା ରହିଛି। ତେବେ ୨୬ ତାରିଖଠାରୁ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଉପକୂଳରେ ବଢ଼ିବ ବର୍ଷା ପରିମାଣ। ଆଇଏମ୍ଡି ଡିଜି ଡକ୍ଟର ମୃତ୍ୟୁଞ୍ଜୟ ମହାପାତ୍ରଙ୍କ ସୂଚନା ଅନୁସାରେ, ଏହା ଅଧିକ ଘନୀଭୂତ ହୋଇ ଆଜି ଅବପାତ, ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲି ଗଭୀର ଅବପାତ ଏବଂ ୨୬ ତାରିଖରେ ଏକ ଘୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିବାତ୍ୟାରେ ପରିଣତ ହେବାର ସମ୍ଭାବନା ରହିଛି। ୨୮ ତାରିଖ ସକାଳ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଏହା ଉତ୍ତର ଆନ୍ଧ୍ର ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଓ ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଉପକୂଳ ନିକଟରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିବା ନେଇ ଆକଳନ କରାଯାଇଛି। ପବନରେ ବେଗ ୨୬ ସକାଳ ବେଳକୁ ୭୦-୮୦ କିମି ଏପରିକି ଝଟ୍କା ପବନ ୯୦ କିଲୋମିଟର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଛୁଇଁପାରେ। ଏହାପରେ ବାତ୍ୟାଟି ଉପକୂଳ ଆଡକୁ ଯେତିକି ବଢ଼ିବ ପବନର ବେଗ ମଧ୍ୟ ବଢ଼ିବାରେ ଲାଗିବ। ତେବେ ଲ୍ୟାଣ୍ଡଫଲ୍ ବେଳେ ବେଗ କେତେ ରହିବ ସେନେଇ ଆଇଏମ୍ଡି ପକ୍ଷରୁ ଏବେ କୌଣସି ଆକଳନ କରାଯାଇ ନାହିଁ। ଆଜି ଅବପାତ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହେବା ପରେ ବାତ୍ୟାର ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ଗତିପଥ ଓ ପବନର ବେଗ ସଂପର୍କରେ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟତା ଆସିବ ବୋଲି କୁହାଯାଇଛି ।

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated the possibility of a cyclone forming over the Bay of Bengal, with the system likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 26. According to IMD Director General Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, the system is expected to develop into a depression today, a deep depression tomorrow, and a cyclonic storm on October 26. By the morning of October 28, it may reach near the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. Wind speeds could reach 70–80 kmph on October 26, with gusts up to 90 kmph. Rainfall along the Odisha coast is expected to increase from October 26. The IMD has not yet forecast the wind speed at landfall. The system’s likely track and intensity are expected to become clearer after the depression forms.
