A depression has formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal and is gradually intensifying. Speaking to OTV, IMD Director General Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said the system may intensify into a deep depression by tonight and could develop into a cyclonic storm tomorrow. Moving west-northwestwards, the potential cyclone may cross the Andhra Pradesh coast on the morning of November 3, with maximum wind speeds estimated at around 100 kmph.

Dr. Mohapatra clarified that the intensity of this potential cyclone is likely to be lower than Cyclone Arnab.

Under its influence, southern Odisha may experience heavy rainfall on November 3 and 4.
