Depression Intensifies Over Bay Of Bengal, Heavy Rain To Lash Odisha

ବଙ୍ଗୋପସାଗରରେ ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ଘନୀଭୂତ ହେଉଛି ଅବପାତ । ଗତ ୬ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ୧୮ କିମି ପଶ୍ଚିମକୁ ଗତି କରୁଛି ଅବପାତ। ଗୋପାଳପୁର ଠାରୁ ୨୦୦ କି.ମି ଦକ୍ଷିଣପୂର୍ବ, ପୁରୀରୁ ପ୍ରାୟ ୨୧୦ କିଲୋମିଟର ଦକ୍ଷିଣରେ ରହିଛି ଅବପାତ । କଳିଙ୍ଗପାଟନମରୁ ୨୦୦ କିମି, ବିଶାଖାପାଟଣାରୁ ୨୯୦ କିମି ଦୂରରେ ଅବପାତ ରହିଛି । ପଶ୍ଚିମ-ଉତ୍ତର ପଶ୍ଚିମକୁ ଗତି କରି ୧୨ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ଗଭୀର ଅବପାତ ପରିଣତ ହେବ । ୨୩ ରାତି ଓ ୨୪ ଭୋର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଉତ୍ତର ଆନ୍ଧ୍ର-ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଉପକୂଳ ଦେଇ ଅତିକ୍ରମ ସମ୍ଭାବନା । ଗଭୀର ଅବପାତର ରୂପ ନେଇ ବିଶାଖାପାଟଣା-ଗୋପାଳପୁର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅତିକ୍ରମ କରିବ । ... ଆଜି ମାଲକାନଗିରିରୁ ମୟୂରଭଞ୍ଜ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରବଳରୁ ଅତିପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା ସମ୍ଭାବନା ରହିଛି । ଏଥିପାଇଁ ୧୩ ଜିଲ୍ଲାକୁ ଅରେଞ୍ଜ ଓ ୯ ଜିଲ୍ଲାକୁ ଜାରି ହୋଇଛି ୟେଲୋ ଆଲର୍ଟ । ତେବେ ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲିଠୁ ବଢିବ ବର୍ଷା ବିପଦ। କାଲି ଗଞ୍ଜାମ, ଗଜପତି ଓ କୋରାପୁଟ ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ଭୀଷଣ ବର୍ଷା ନେଇ ରେଡ୍ ଆଲର୍ଟ ଜାରି ହୋଇଛି। ସେହିଭଳି ୨୪ ତାରିଖରେ ୪ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ମାଲକାନଗିରି, କୋରାପୁଟ, କଳାହାଣ୍ଡି ଓ ନବରଙ୍ଗପୁର ରହିଛି ରେଡ୍ ଆଲର୍ଟରେ । ୨୩ ଓ ୨୪ ତାରିଖ ଦୁଇ ଦିନ ପ୍ରବଳରୁ ଅତିପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା ହେବ।

The depression over the Bay of Bengal is gradually intensifying and moved 18 km westward in the last six hours. It is located around 200 km southeast of Gopalpur, 210 km south of Puri, 200 km from Kalingapatnam and 290 km from Visakhapatnam. Moving west-northwest, it is expected to intensify into a deep depression within the next 12 hours and may cross between north Andhra Pradesh and the south Odisha coast between the night of September 23 and early September 24. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected across Odisha on September 23 and 24, with red alerts issued for Ganjam, Gajapati and Koraput on September 23, and Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur on September 24. Orange and yellow alerts have also been issued for several districts.
