School Without Power, Students Protest On Road Over Electricity Disconnection In Sambalpur

ବକେୟା ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ ବିଲ୍, ସ୍କୁଲରେ ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ କାଟ୍ । ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ ସଂଯୋଗ ବିଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେବାକୁ ନେଇ ରାସ୍ତାକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇଲେ ଛାତ୍ରୀ। ସମ୍ବଲପୁର ଧନୁପାଲି ସରକାରୀ ବାଳିକା ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟରେ ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ ନଥିବାରୁ ପାଠପଢ଼ା ସହ ଦୈନନ୍ଦିନ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ହେଉଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରି ରାସ୍ତାରୋକ କରିଥିଲେ ଛାତ୍ରୀ। ଫଳରେ ଯାତାୟତ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା। ଏପଟେ, ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ ବକେୟା ଥିବା ୧୦୦ଟି ସ୍କୁଲର ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୯ ଲକ୍ଷ ୯୮ ହଜାର ୨୪୯ ଟଙ୍କା ବିଲ୍ ରହିଥିବା କହିଛନ୍ତି ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଶିକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକାରୀ। ଟାଟା ପାୱାର ପକ୍ଷରୁ ଦିଆଯାଇଥିବା ବିଲ୍ ରେ ତ୍ରୁଟି ଥିବାରୁ ଏହାର ସଂଶୋଧନ ପରେ ଟ୍ରେଜେରୀକୁ ପେମେଣ୍ଟ ଦିଆଯିବ। ସ୍କୁଲରେ ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ ପୁନଃସଂଯୋଗ ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପଦକ୍ଷେପ ନିଆଯାଇଥିବା ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ଡିଇଓ।

Students of Dhanupali Government Girls’ School in Sambalpur staged a road blockade protesting the disconnection of electricity at the school over pending power bills. They alleged that the lack of electricity was affecting studies and daily activities, also disrupting traffic during the protest. The District Education Officer said around 100 schools have pending electricity bills totalling approximately ₹19.98 lakh. The DEO said there were errors in the bills issued by Tata Power and payment would be made to the treasury after correction. Steps are also being taken to restore the electricity connection at the school.
