ବାଲ୍ୟବିବାହ ବନ୍ଦ ଉଦ୍ୟମ କରିବାରୁ ଭାଇ ଉପରେ ମରଣାନ୍ତକ ଆକ୍ରମଣ ଅଭିଯୋଗ। ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ ସଦର ଥାନା ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ ତରଭା ଗାଁରେ ଘଟିଛି ଏଭଳି ଘଟଣା। କାଠ ଫାଳିଆରେ ୬୫ ବର୍ଷୀୟ ଘନଶ୍ୟାମ ବାରିକିଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କ ଭାଇ, ପୁତୁରା ଓ ପୁତୁରା ବୋହୂ ସଂଘବଦ୍ଧ ଭାବେ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରିଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ। ଘନଶ୍ୟାମଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇ ତାଙ୍କ ପୁଅ ଓ ପତ୍ନୀ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆକ୍ରମଣର ଶିକାର ହୋଇଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ ହୋଇଛି। ଗୁରୁତର ଆହତ ଘନଶ୍ୟାମଙ୍କୁ ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ ହସ୍ପିଟାଲରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି କରାଯାଇଛି। ଅଭିଯୋଗ ଅନୁସାରେ, କିଛି ଦିନ ତଳେ ରଞ୍ଜନ ବାରିକି ତାଙ୍କ ପୁଅର ବାଲ୍ୟବିବାହ କରାଉଥିବା ଖବର ମିଳିଥିଲା। ଏହାପରେ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଶିଶୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକାରୀ ପୋଲିସ ସହଯୋଗରେ ଗାଁରେ ଚଢ଼ାଉ କରିଥିଲ। ତେବେ ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରୁ ନାବାଳିକାଙ୍କ କୌଣସି ସନ୍ଧାନ ମିଳିନଥିଲା। ଚାଇଲ୍ଡ ହେଲ୍ପଲାଇନକୁ ଏହି ସୂଚନା ଘନଶ୍ୟାମଙ୍କ ପରିବାର ଦେଇଥିବା ସନ୍ଦେହ କରି ତାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଆକ୍ରମଣ ହୋଇଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ। ଘଟଣାକୁ ନେଇ ସଦର ଥାନା ପୋଲିସ ତଦନ୍ତ ଜାରି ରଖିଥିବା ବେଳେ ଆକ୍ରମଣର ପ୍ରକୃତ କାରଣ ଓ ଘଟଣାରେ ସମ୍ପୃକ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଖୋଳତାଡ଼ କରୁଛି ।

A 65-year-old man was allegedly attacked with wooden sticks in Tarabha village under Dhenkanal Sadar police station for trying to stop a child marriage. Ghanshyam Barik was allegedly assaulted by his brother, nephew and nephew’s wife. His son and wife were also allegedly attacked when they tried to save him. Ghanshyam, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to Dhenkanal Hospital. According to the complaint, a few days ago, information was received that Ranjan Barik was arranging the marriage of his minor son. The District Child Protection Officer, along with police, conducted a raid, but the minor girl could not be traced. Ghanshyam’s family was allegedly suspected of informing the Child Helpline. Sadar police are investigating the incident and probing the exact reason behind the attack and the involvement of others.
