EPF Rule: Employers Cannot Reduce Employees’ Salary to Cover Higher PF Contribution

EPF ବାହାନାରେ କର୍ମଚାରୀଙ୍କ ଦରମା କାଟି ପାରିବେନି ନିଯୁକ୍ତିଦାତା। ନିଯୁକ୍ତିଦାତାଙ୍କ ଅତିରିକ୍ତ EPF ଅବଦାନକୁ କର୍ମଚାରୀଙ୍କ CTC କିମ୍ବା ମୂଳ ଦରମାରୁ କମାଯାଇପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ନିଯୁକ୍ତିଦାତାଙ୍କୁ ଏଭଳି ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସରକାର। EPF ପାଇଁ ବେତନ ସୀମା ୧୫ ହଜାରରୁ ୨୫ ହଜାରକୁ ବଢିବା ପରେ ଏହାର ଅତିରିକ୍ତ ଭାର କର୍ମଚାରୀଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପକାଇବାକୁ ବାରଣ କରାଯାଇଛି।
The Government has raised the EPFO wage ceiling from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 for mandatory coverage, according to the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The change does not mean an employer can simply recover its statutory EPF contribution by reducing an employee’s agreed basic salary or CTC. EPFO’s contribution framework separately specifies employee and employer shares, while the government’s higher wage ceiling expands mandatory coverage. Employees should therefore check their salary structure and EPF deductions after the new ceiling takes effect.
