Fuel Costs Rise, Online Taxi Drivers Demand Fare Hike in Bhubaneswar

ଦ୍ବିତୀୟ ଦିନରେ ଅନଲାଇନ ଡ୍ରାଇଭରଙ୍କ ଧାରଣା। ଲୋୟର ପିଏମଜିରେ ଧାରଣା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି OLA, Uber ଓ Rapido ଡ୍ରାଇଭର। ୩୦ ଦଫା ଦାବି ନେଇ ଅନ୍ଦୋଳନ କରୁଛନ୍ତି ଅଲ୍ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଗିଗ୍ ୱାର୍କର୍ସ ୟୁନିଅନ୍। ଅନଲାଇନ୍ ଟ୍ୟାକ୍ସିର ଭଡ଼ା ଉପରେ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣ ରହିବା ସହ ଯାତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଫିକ୍ସ ରେଟ୍ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧାରଣ କରିବାକୁ ସଂଗଠନ ଦାବି କରିଛି। ଦିନରେ କିମି ପିଛା ୧୨ ଟଙ୍କା ଓ ରାତିରେ କିମି ପିଛା ୧୫ ଟଙ୍କା ଭଡ଼ା ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧାରଣ ପାଇଁ ଦାବି କରିଛନ୍ତି ଡ୍ରାଇଭର।

The protest by online taxi drivers entered its second day as OLA, Uber and Rapido drivers staged a demonstration at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar. The All Odisha Gig Workers Union is protesting with a 30-point charter of demands. The union has demanded government regulation of online taxi fares and fixed rates for passengers. Drivers are seeking a fare of ₹12 per kilometre during the day and ₹15 per kilometre at night, citing rising fuel costs. The protest highlights the drivers' demand for better earnings and regulated fares in the app-based taxi sector.
