Indravati Water Level Rising Rapidly; Low-Lying Areas Put on Alert

ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରାବତୀରେ ବଢୁଛି ଜଳସ୍ତର, ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ନେଇ ଆଗୁଆ ସତର୍କତା । ଗାଁ ଗାଁରେ ଡାକବାଜି ଯନ୍ତ୍ର ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ସତର୍କତା କରାଯାଉଛି । ତେବେ ଉପରମୁଣ୍ଡରେ ଲଗାଣ ବର୍ଷା ଯୋଗୁଁ ଦ୍ରୁତଗତିରେ ବଢୁଛି ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରାବତୀ ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାରର ଜଳସ୍ତର । ଆଜି ସକାଳ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଜଳସ୍ତର ୬୩୯ ଦଶମିକ ୬୦ ମିଟରରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଥିବା ବେଳେ, ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଜଳଧାରଣ ସ୍ତର ରହିଛି ୬୪୨ ମିଟର। ଡ୍ୟାମର ସତର୍କ ସୀମା ୬୪୦ ମିଟର ଛୁଇଁଲେ ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲି ଅତିରିକ୍ତ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ କରାଯାଇପାରେ। ଏନେଇ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରାବତୀ ପ୍ରକଳ୍ପ ପ୍ରଶାସନ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ତେନ୍ତୁଳିଖୁଣ୍ଟି, ନନ୍ଦାହାଣ୍ଡି ଓ ନବରଙ୍ଗପୁର ବ୍ଲକର ତଳିଆ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଡାକବାଜି ଯନ୍ତ୍ର ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ସତର୍କତା ଜାରି ରହିଛି। ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ନଦୀକୁ ନଯିବା, ନଦୀ ଜଳ ବ୍ୟବହାର ନକରିବା ଏବଂ ଗୃହପାଳିତ ପଶୁପକ୍ଷୀଙ୍କୁ ନଦୀଠାରୁ ଦୂରେ ରଖିବାକୁ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ଜିଲ୍ଲାପାଳ ମଧ୍ୟ ସତର୍କ ରହିବାକୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ...

The water level in the Indravati reservoir is rising rapidly due to continuous rainfall in the upper catchment, prompting advance warnings over possible water release. As of this morning, the water level stood at 639.60 metres, against the full reservoir level of 642 metres. The warning level is 640 metres, and gates may be opened as required to release excess water. The Indravati Project authorities are using public-address systems to alert people in low-lying areas of Tentulikhunti, Nandahandi and Nabarangpur blocks. People have been advised not to enter the river, use river water or allow domestic animals and birds near the river. The District Collector has also urged people to remain alert.
