Konark Beautification Work Stalled Despite ₹207 Crore Project; Tourists Left Disappointed

ବନ୍ଦ ପଡିଛି କୋଣାର୍କ ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ଯ୍ୟକରଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ। ୨୦୭ କୋଟି ଟଙ୍କାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇ ଠପ୍। ଅଢେଇ ବର୍ଷ ବିତିଥିଲେ ବି ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ଯ୍ୟକରଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇପାରିନି। ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଜାତିର ଗୌରବ ଏବଂ ପୂର୍ବ ଭାରତର ଏକମାତ୍ର ବିଶ୍ବଐତିହ୍ୟ ମାନ୍ୟତା ପାଇଥିବା କୋଣାର୍କ ଏବେ ଅଭିଶପ୍ତ। କାରଣ ବାରମ୍ବାର ସରକାରଙ୍କ ଅବହେଳା ଶିକାର ହୋଇ ଆସୁଥିବା କୋଣାର୍କକୁ ଆସୁଥିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟଟକ ମାନେ ବେଶ ନିରାଶ ହୋଇ ଫେରୁଛନ୍ତି।

On World Tourism Day, concerns have been raised over the stalled beautification work at Konark. Work on the ₹207-crore project began but has remained incomplete even after around two-and-a-half years. Konark, a globally recognised heritage site and a symbol of Odisha’s pride, continues to face questions over the delay in the beautification project. The incomplete work is reportedly disappointing tourists visiting the historic site. The situation has renewed concerns over the development and upkeep of Konark as a major tourist destination.
