Severe Cyclone Murasu is moving towards the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh coast and is likely to make landfall between Nellore and Narsapur between midnight tonight and 4 am tomorrow. Wind speeds may reach 100–110 kmph, with gusts up to 120 kmph. Southern Odisha districts may also experience gusty winds of up to 70 kmph under its influence.

Rainfall has already begun in several districts of Odisha and is expected to intensify tomorrow, according to the India Meteorological Department.

However, the impact of Cyclone Murasu is expected to be less severe compared to the recent Very Severe Cyclone Arnab.
