A unique literary talent from Ganjam’s Bhanjanagar is drawing attention for writing Odia poems without matras or conjunct letters. Poet Prashant Mahanti has been writing in this distinctive style for years. One of his poems, written nearly 30 years ago, has now received recognition from the Mass Education Department and found a place in a textbook.
