Odisha Government Holds High-Level Meeting to Review Preparedness for Cyclone Murasu

ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ବାତ୍ୟା ‘ମୁରାସୁ’କୁ ନେଇ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ତତ୍ପରତା । ରାଜସ୍ୱ ଓ ବିପର୍ଯ୍ୟୟ ପରିଚାଳନା ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସୁରେଶ ପୂଜାରୀଙ୍କ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷତାରେ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ତରୀୟ ସମୀକ୍ଷା ବୈଠକ ହୋଇଛି । ବୈଠକରେ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଶାସନ ସଚିବ ଅନୁ ଗର୍ଗ, ବିଭାଗୀୟ ସଚିବ ଅରବିନ୍ଦ ପାଢ଼ୀ, ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ରିଲିଫ କମିଶନର ପ୍ରଭାକର ପାଟିଲ, ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ଡିଜି ସୁଧାଂଶୁ ଷଡ଼ଙ୍ଗୀ, ଆଇନଶୃଙ୍ଖଳା ଏଡିଜି ସଞ୍ଜୟ କୁମାରଙ୍କ ସମେତ ଜଳସମ୍ପଦ ବିଭାଗର ବରିଷ୍ଠ ଅଧିକାରୀମାନେ ଯୋଗଦେଇ ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ବାତ୍ୟାର ମୁକାବିଲା ଓ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ନେଇ ଆଲୋଚନା କରିଥିଲେ । ପାଣିପାଗ ଆକଳନ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ବାତ୍ୟା ‘ମୁରାସୁ’ ଗଭୀର ଅବପାତରେ ପରିଣତ ହେବା ସହ ଉତ୍ତର-ପଶ୍ଚିମ ଦିଗକୁ ଗତି କରିପାରେ। ଏନେଇ ଆଜି ସକାଳେ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସ୍ଥିତିର ସମୀକ୍ଷା କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଅନେକ ସଚିବ ଗଞ୍ଜାମ ଗସ୍ତରେ ରହି ସ୍ଥିତି ଅନୁଧ୍ୟାନ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। ଗଞ୍ଜାମ, ଗଜପତି ଓ ମାଲକାନଗିରି ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ବର୍ଷା ଯୋଗୁଁ ଧୋଇଯାଇଥିବା ରାସ୍ତାଗୁଡ଼ିକର ପୁନନିର୍ମାଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଛି। ‘ଅର୍ଣ୍ଣବ’ ବାତ୍ୟାରେ ଗଜପତି ଓ କନ୍ଧମାଳ ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ଭୂସ୍ଖଳନ ଯୋଗୁଁ ଅଧିକ କ୍ଷୟକ୍ଷତି ହୋଇଛି। ତେଣୁ ବିପଦସଙ୍କୁଳ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ରହୁଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ସ୍ଥଳେ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତର କରାଯିବ। ସେହିପରି ଗଞ୍ଜାମ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର କ୍ଷୟକ୍ଷତି ପ୍ୟାକେଜ ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲି ଘୋଷଣା କରାଯିବ ବୋଲି ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି।...

The Odisha government has stepped up preparations for the possible cyclone Murasu. A high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari to discuss preparedness and response measures. Chief Secretary Anu Garg, departmental secretary Aravind Padhee, Special Relief Commissioner Prabhakar Patil, Fire Services DG Sudhanshu Sarangi, ADG (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar and senior Water Resources Department officials attended the meeting. The Chief Minister also reviewed the situation earlier in the morning, while several secretaries are visiting Ganjam to assess ground conditions. Road restoration work has begun in Ganjam, Gajapati and Malkangiri districts after roads were washed away by rain. In view of the landslides and damage caused by Cyclone Arnab in Gajapati and Kandhamal, people living in vulnerable areas may be shifted to safer locations if required. The minister also said that a damage-relief package for Ganjam district would be announced tomorrow.
