Sambalpur Encounter: Police Firing Leaves Dreaded Criminal Injured

ସମ୍ବଲପୁର ସଦର ଥାନା ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ପୋଲିସ ଗୁଳିରେ ଜଣେ ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦାନ୍ତ ଅପରାଧୀ ଆହତ । ଆହତ ଅଭିଯୁକ୍ତ ହେଉଛି ସୁନାପାଲିର ମହମ୍ମଦ ଇରଫାନ । ତା’ ନାଁରେ ଡକାୟତି, ଲୁଟ୍, ଆଲୁମିନିୟମ୍ ତାର ଚୋରି, ଚୋରି ଓ ନିଶା କାରବାର ଭଳି 24ରୁ ଅଧିକ ମାମଲା ରହିଛି ।ଆଜି ଭୋର ପ୍ରାୟ 5ଟା 45ରେ ସଦର ଥାନା ପୋଲିସ୍ କେନାଲ ରୋଡ୍ ର ସୁଦୁଙ୍ଗା ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ନିକଟରେ ଏକ ବାଇକକୁ ଅଟକାଇଥିଲା । ବାଇକ୍ ରେ ଇରଫାନ ସହ ତା’ର ଦୁଇ ସହଯୋଗୀ ଥିଲେ । ପୋଲିସ୍ ଦୁଇ ଜଣଙ୍କୁ କାବୁ କରିଥିବା ବେଳେ ଇରଫାନ ଖସିଯିବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ୟମ କରିଥିଲା ।ଖସିବା ସମୟରେ ଇରଫାନ ପୋଲିସ୍ ଉପରକୁ 3 ରାଉଣ୍ଡ ଗୁଳି ଚଳାଇଥିଲା । ଆତ୍ମରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଁ ପୋଲିସ୍ 2 ରାଉଣ୍ଡ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରିତ ଗୁଳି ଚଳାଇଥିଲା । ଏଥିରେ ଇରଫାନର ବାମ ଗୋଡ଼ରେ ଗୁଳି ବାଜିଛି । ତାକୁ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ପାଇଁ ତୁରନ୍ତ ବୁର୍ଲା VIMSARକୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତର କରାଯାଇଛି ।ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରୁ ଏକ ପିସ୍ତଲ, ଗୁଳି ଓ 3ଟି ଖୋକା ଜବତ ହୋଇଛି । ଅଭିଯୁକ୍ତମାନେ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରୁଥିବା ବାଇକ୍ କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପୋଲିସ୍ ଜବତ କରିଛି । ଘଟଣାରେ ଅଧିକ ତଦନ୍ତ ଜାରି ରହିଛି...

A dreaded criminal was injured in police firing in the Sadar police station area of Sambalpur. The injured accused has been identified as Mohammad Irfan of Sunapali, who reportedly has more than 24 cases registered against him, including dacoity, robbery, aluminium wire theft, theft and drug trafficking. At around 5:45 am today, Sadar police intercepted a bike near the Sudunga forest on Canal Road, carrying Irfan and two associates. While police apprehended two of them, Irfan allegedly tried to flee and fired three rounds at the police. In self-defence, police fired two controlled rounds, hitting Irfan in his left leg. He was shifted to Burla VIMSAR for treatment. A pistol, ammunition and three empty cartridges were seized from the spot, along with the bike used by the accused. Further investigation is underway.
