The State Bank of India (SBI) is investigating a cybersecurity breach in which the personal data of around 3,897 customers was reportedly leaked on the dark web. Questions have been raised over whether the leak resulted from a bank server vulnerability or the involvement of third-party agents handling loan processing. According to cyber fraud investigator Rajesh Gupta, SBI has engaged a government-recognised independent cybersecurity agency to conduct an in-depth investigation and identify those responsible. The bank has assured customers that its core banking systems and financial transactions remain secure.
