A government primary school in Dadhiyapadar village under Haldi Gram Panchayat in Muribahal block of Balangir district is located inside a forest, around 2 km from the village. A total of 35 students study at the school, but its remote location has raised safety concerns.

Elephants have reportedly entered the school premises and damaged the boundary wall and hand pump. Students also have to cross a stream to reach the school.

Villagers are demanding that the school be shifted closer to the village instead of remaining inside the forest. Muribahal Block Education Officer Shantanu Parihari said steps would be taken in this regard.
