Terrifying footage has emerged from Taiwan as Typhoon Champi brings powerful winds and massive waves to the island’s eastern coast. Waves reportedly reaching around 26 feet have surged towards coastal areas, creating dangerous conditions. According to preliminary reports in the supplied news, one person has died and 94 others have been injured. More than 77,000 households have faced power disruptions, around 1,000 flights have been cancelled, and 1,286 people have been evacuated to safer locations. Schools, offices and transport services have also been severely affected. Champi reportedly reached super typhoon strength before approaching Taiwan, although its intensity later weakened. However, strong winds and huge waves continue to raise concerns about possible damage in coastal areas.
