An Assam youth who returned from Nepal has recounted his terrifying experience during the devastating floods. He said that when the floodwaters suddenly surged, they climbed up a mountain in a desperate bid to save their lives. After the water receded, they came down and witnessed the massive destruction left behind by the flood.

The survivor said, “The floodwaters surged and we climbed the mountain to save our lives. After the water receded, we came down and saw the devastation. We broke down in tears.”
