The Supply Department has conducted a raid into allegations of mid-day meal rice theft in Gajapati district. Following the report, officials inspected an unauthorised warehouse in Khajuripada village where rice meant for the mid-day meal programme was reportedly stored.
According to the stock register, 3,086 bags of 50 kg rice should have been available. However, during the raid, officials found only 1,552 bags, with 1,534 bags missing. The warehouse has been sealed and the investigation is continuing.
