Crores of rupees were sanctioned for sports development in Koraput with the dream of providing facilities for multiple sports at one complex. However, even after spending more than ₹3 crore, the Outdoor Sports Arena Complex remains incomplete. The ground where athletes were supposed to train and compete is now being used for grazing cattle, while unfinished work and overgrown weeds are visible across the premises. Questions are being raised over why the project remains incomplete despite the expenditure, with local residents and sportspersons alleging that government funds have been misused.
