The Baitarani river is flowing above the danger mark in Jajpur district, with the water level at 18.70 metres against the danger level of 18.33 metres. The flood has affected 10 panchayats in Dasarathpur block, two panchayats in Binjharpur block and around 30 villages. A breach in the Kani river at Patana has submerged several villages, with floodwater entering homes and around 2 feet of water flowing over roads.
