ମହାନଦୀରେ ମାଡ଼ି ଆସୁଛି ପାଣି । ତଳିଆ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଛନକା । ଫୁଲୁଛି ହୀରାକୁଦ, ଖୋଲିଲା ଆଉ ୨ଟି ଗେଟ୍ । ଏବେ ୨୪ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ହୀରାକୁଦରୁ ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି । ଆଜି ରାତି ସୁଦ୍ଧା ମୁଣ୍ଡଳିରେ ୬ ଲକ୍ଷ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ପହଞ୍ଚିବ। ମହାନଦୀରେ ଜଳପ୍ରବାହ ବଢୁଥିବାରୁ ତାର ଉପନଦୀ ଗୁଡ଼ିକ ମଧ୍ୟ ଫୁଲିବାରେ ଲାଗିଛି । ହୀରାକୁଦ ପାଣି ତଳମୁଣ୍ଡରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିବା ପରେ ବନ୍ୟା ସ୍ଥିତି ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହେବା ଆଶଙ୍କା କରାଯାଉଛି ।
A fresh flood threat is looming over Odisha as the Mahanadi continues to swell following the opening of 14 gates at Chhattisgarh’s Gangrel Dam. Meanwhile, 22 gates of the Hirakud Dam are currently open for releasing water. Concerns are rising over a possible flood situation in downstream areas once the Hirakud water reaches the lower reaches of the Mahanadi.
