Bhadrak Flood Alert: Salandi, Baitarani Rise; Villages, Farmlands Submerged

ଲଗାଣ ବର୍ଷା ଯୋଗୁଁ ଫୁଲୁଛି ସାଳନ୍ଦୀ ଓ ବୈତରଣୀ ନଦୀ। ଉଭୟ ନଦୀ ବିପଦ ସଙ୍କେତ ତଳେ ଥିଲେ ବି ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଉଛି ଜଳସ୍ତର। ଭଦ୍ରକ ରାଜଘାଟଠାରେ ବିପଦ ସଙ୍କେତ ୧୭ ଫୁଟ ଥିବା ବେଳେ ଏବେ ୧୬ ଫୁଟରେ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହେଉଛି। ସେହିପରି ଆଖୁଆପଦାଠାରେ ବୈତରଣୀ ବିପଦ ସଂକେତ ୧୮.୩୩ ମିଟର ଥିବା ବେଳେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ୧୭.୩୬ ମିଟରରେ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହେଉଛି।

Continuous rainfall has pushed up water levels in the Salandi and Baitarani rivers in Bhadrak, with several villages and large stretches of farmland remaining submerged. At Rajghat, Salandi is flowing at 16 feet against its 17-foot danger level, while at Akhuapada, Baitarani is flowing at 17.36 metres against a danger level of 18.33 metres. Although both rivers remain below the danger mark, their rising levels are affecting low-lying areas.
