BJP Odisha president Manmohan Samal strongly criticised the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) over its participation in the INDIA bloc’s protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Samal questioned what alternative the BJD has after joining hands with the Congress-led Opposition. He claimed that parties that allied with the Congress had eventually declined, citing communist and socialist parties as examples. On SIR, Samal asked the Opposition to raise specific allegations instead of merely raising slogans, and questioned where voters had been deleted on a party basis. He said names removed from electoral rolls are being added again.
