As the southwest monsoon begins withdrawing from Odisha, the Meteorological Centre has warned of thunderstorms, lightning and rain across several parts of the state. A yellow warning has been issued for 13 districts, including areas in northern, coastal and southern Odisha. Some places in these districts may experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, rainfall and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph. No district-level alert has been issued for tomorrow. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has started withdrawing from Odisha, with most parts of Bargarh district witnessing its departure yesterday. The monsoon has also withdrawn from some areas of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Nuapada and Nabarangpur districts. Weather conditions are becoming favourable for the monsoon to withdraw from more parts of eastern India over the next two to three days. Residents are advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms and lightning.
